  • Chlorine Dioxide | Prominent

Chlorine Dioxide Chlorine dioxide is an extremely reactive gas, and because of its instability, cannot be stored. It must only be produced in the required quantities in special generators on the site where it is used. Chlorine dioxide offers a number of advantages when compared with chlorine for water disinfection. Chlorine being the disinfectant mainly used. The disinfecting power of chlorine dioxide actually increases slightly with increasing pH, whereas with chlorine the disinfecting power reduces. Chlorine dioxide remains stable in the pipeline system over a longer period and ensures microbiological protection of the water for many more hours, or even several days. Ammonia and ammonium, which cause significant chlorine depletion, are not attacked by chlorine dioxide, so chlorine dioxide is fully available for bactericidal action. Chlorophenols, the compounds with intense odours, that are often produced during water chlorination, are not formed when chlorine dioxide is used. Trihalomethanes (THMs), a group of substances, which, like their best known example, chloroform, (are suspected of being carcinogenic) are produced when chlorine reacts with natural water components (humic acids, fulvic acids, etc.). Measured THM concentrations, are drastically reduced, if present at all, when chlorine dioxide is used. Advantages of chlorine dioxide : Disinfection power is independent of pH. High residual effect thanks to long-term stability in the pipeline system. Reduction of the biofilm in pipelines and tanks, hence reliable protection of entire water systems against legionella contamination. No reaction with ammonia or ammonium. No formation of chorophenols and other intense odour compounds which can be produced in water chlorination. No formation of THMs and other chlorinated hydrocarbons, no increase in the AOX value. • Potassium Permanganate | Prominent

HOME PRODUCTS AQUATIC WATER TREATMENT CHEMICAL DOSING SKIDS FEEDER PACKAGES CONTACT US TECHNICAL VIDEOS General Terms and Conditions of Sale Privacy Policy Search Results More Potassium Permanganate ProMinent offer Potassium Permanganate packages that are easy to load, mix transfer and meter KMnO4 into water supplies for the removal of manganese and iron. ProMinent Australia can supply a variety of packages to suit your requirement including batching tank, dosing tank, vacuum loader, transfer pump and metering pumps. For potassium permanganate we would normally offer a preparation and dosing two tank package for making up to a maximum 2.5% solution. Potassium permanganate comes in 25 kg containers and we recommend the full 25 kg container be emptied with each batch make-up as KMnO4 is hygroscopic so it is not ideal to have granules holding in feeders vacuum loaders or hoppers as the product will form a solid mass. At 2.5% 25 kg will batch up 1000 litres stirred ready for transferring to the dosing tank for metering. We would normally fit a Tomal 50 litre stainless steel vacuum loader (capacity approximately 10 to 15 kg/min). Both tanks are fitted with the necessary inlet, overflow and drain connections. The PE preparation tank is fitted with a slow speed stirrer with adjustable timer. The dosing PE tank is fitted with level switches. Once the tank reaches the bottom ‘batch’ level the solution in the preparation tank would either automatically transfer or be manually started by the operator, controlled by level switches. Transfer is via a mag drive centrifugal pump at around 6000 l/h, controlled from the local ‘mimic’control panel with Allen Bradley PLC. Easy loading from 25 bg cannister with specially designed vacuum loader removing the need for platforms and lifting devices Supplied with control panel for automation Controls and alarms to indicate malfunction Custom built to suit particular site and capacity requirements

  • Lime | Prominent

HOME PRODUCTS AQUATIC WATER TREATMENT CHEMICAL DOSING SKIDS FEEDER PACKAGES CONTACT US TECHNICAL VIDEOS General Terms and Conditions of Sale Privacy Policy Search Results More Lime We offer small lime dosing packages in 2 ways. Firstly with a constant transfer rate and we vary the solution strength in proportion to a 4-20 mA signal by varying the powder feeder. Secondly a constant solution is made up and a metering pump doses in proportion to a 4-20 mA signal. .For both systems we always suggest the dosing line be kept as short as possible and to achieve this either the mains be close to the dosing pump or a booster transfer pump be installed to take water from the mains transfer it close to the dosing pump and return it back to the mains. Lime will settle out whenever the dosing is stopped. With the constant transfer system, when the feeding of the lime powder has stopped, water is allowed to continue for a set period to flush the tank, pump and transfer line. With this system, the velocity in the transfer pipe is always at maximum helping to prevent lime settling out in the line. With a batch make-up system it has to be decided as to what is to be flushed. Solenoid valves can be fitted to shut down the discharge from the solution tank, provide water to the metering pump for an adjustable time to flush the dosing line, but this does not clear the tank or the outlet solenoid valve. It may not be an option to completely flush the solution tank depending upon the volume of the tank. Small lime plant For large lime plants visit www.tomal.com.au For this constant solution package the metering pump will more than meet most turndown requirements but when dosing low capacities there is the risk of a too slow velocity in the dosing line resulting in lime settling out in the dosing line. A typical varying solution strength constant transfer system would operate as follows: A bag of powdered lime is placed on the open door of the bag loader and held in place by the retaining spear. The bottom of the bag is then opened manually, with a knife and the door closed allowing the lime to fall into the hopper. Heating pads and a vibrator are fitted to the hopper to keep the powder dry and to prevent bridging of the powder. The powder is metered into the solution tank via the powder feeder where it is mixed into the make-up water. A stirrer ensures the solution is thoroughly mixed before being transferred to the injection point. For larger Lime Plants please refer to tomal.com.au BROCHURE
